Community Infrastructure

A sound and functioning community infrastructure supports an array of services, to businesses, individuals and families. In our multi-island county, community infrastructure is a challenge. We need highly functioning public systems, services and facilities to support our economy and our continued quality of life. We need ways to get around and between our respective islands, and the technology to connect us with each other and to the mainland in a fast and efficient manner. We need cost effective energy supplies and ways to more effectively provide services to our citizens. We need a world class community infrastructure that will enable us to thrive as a community in the next millennium.

FANS mission is to enhance and broaden the island’s park and recreation facilities and programs through creating new funding opportunities for Island Rec. Due to its tax-exempt status, FANS will be able to pursue grant opportunities that are not available to Island Rec. Funds raised will be used to help bridge the financial gap between community’s park and recreation needs and what Island Rec’s budget can afford to address.
