Health & Wellness

Personal health is fundamental to building and maintaining all aspects of a healthy community. All other attributes flow from a culture of wellness. Without good physical and emotional health, individuals cannot be active participants in the fabric of our society.

To provide seed money to help establish the newly formed Friends and Neighbors Support Island Rec (FANS). FANS mission is to enhance and broaden the island’s park and recreation facilities and programs through creating new funding opportunities for Island Rec. Due to its tax-exempt status, FANS will be able to pursue grant opportunities that are not available to Island Rec. Funds raised will be used to help bridge the financial gap between community’s park and recreation needs and what Island Rec’s budget can afford to address.

The Foundation’s Peace Island Medical Center (PIMC) – Unrestricted Fund provides continuing support for the new clinic, hospital, emergency room and cancer care center in Friday Harbor.
