Give Broadly to Programs that Support Our Local Economy
Quality and diverse employment opportunities for everyone are a challenge in our small island environment where the cost of living is high. Over time, the islands’ economic base has shifted from farming and fishing to real estate and construction. In today’s economic times, that base is shifting yet again, providing an opportunity to look to the future and plan for ways to attract low impact businesses that can support workers and mesh with our ‘perceived’ rural lifestyle. Career training is critical for providing local workers for local jobs.
The Foundation partners with the San Juan Economic Development Council to apply philanthropy, where appropriate, to keep our community economically healthy.
