High speed digital technology is a fundamental component to future economic health and community infrastructure for our Island community. Initially launched through the Foundations Critical Needs Task Force, a new partnership between the Economic Development Council, OPALCO and the San Juan Island Community Foundation has begun to actively explore enhanced high-speed internet broadband for the Islands. High speed broadband will enhance the delivery of healthcare and emergency services, support existing businesses and job creation, and improve personal data services access.
