The Community Foundation will match 50¢ on every dollar up to the goal amount of $3,000.

PADs For Parkinson’s is a San Juan Island grassroots 501(c)3 devoted to training dogs to sniff out a cure for Parkinson’s.  PADs research and mission is of interest not only to people with Parkinson’s but to their caregivers and others.  Currently the PADs training trailer is accessed only through two sets of stairs.  Mobility issues often accompany Parkinson’s disease and PADs’ project goal is to convert the side stair entrance to one with a wheelchair ramp.  Building an accessible entrance to the PADs training trailer will ensure that all people interested in PADs research have the opportunity to join in our efforts to find a cure for Parkinson’s.  PADs invites you to observe – call Lisa Holt, PADs Training Director at (360) 298-5494 to schedule your visit.
