Cheryl moved to the San Juan Islands in 1987 to follow her love of sailing. Prior to moving to the islands, she lived on a mountain top in Idaho, where skiing was her passion. She loves Island life enough that she has lived on two of the islands, Brown and San Juan. She completed her BBA degree, passed the CPA exam and completed her CPA experience in 1979 with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, International CPA Firm. She previously worked for Ernst & Ernst while a student. She later was concurrently a partner in a CPA firm and a CPA Review Seminar Partnership. Her time was split between traveling the country teaching seminars and sailing in many parts of the world. While living in the islands, she has served on the board of the Friday (Brown) Island Homeowners Association, was a volunteer firefighter for 12 years, Treasurer of the Firefighters Association, a volunteer EMT for 15 years, Treasurer of the EMT Association for 10 years, CPR Instructor and Training Officer and EMS Interim Administrator/Chief for over 2 years. She currently has her own accounting business and shares her life with her husband, 2 labradoodles, Karma & Kahlua, and one old cat, Rumpleteaser.
