The San Juan Island Community Foundation (SJICF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Victoria Compton as Chief Development Officer, effective August 2026. This is a strategic hire made possible by a generous grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. The capacity-building grant supports SJICF’s vision to significantly expand the foundation’s community impact by growing philanthropy, increasing civic engagement, and bolstering support for island nonprofits.

“Victoria’s passion for this community and her extraordinary track record make her the ideal person to lead our development work,” said CEO Amy Saxe-Eyler. “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome her to the SJICF team.”

Compton brings nearly 17 years of economic development leadership to SJICF, having served as Executive Director of the San Juan County Economic Development Council since 2009, where she built the organization from a part-time operation into a multi-staff office with strong relationships with state and federal partners, local government, and the business community.

Founded in 1994, the mission of the San Juan Island Community Foundation is to cultivate a sustainable future for the San Juan Island community through collaboration and informed giving. To learn more, visit sjicf.org.
