Student Overview
Thanks to the generosity and vision of our donors, SJICF offers scholarships to eligible high school graduates for higher education and career training opportunities for all ages. Scholarships can open doors to advanced education and provide an incentive to realize one’s dreams.
In 2025, the Foundation was pleased to award $269,000 in scholarships for higher education and career training programs. Since the first awards in 2008, 251 students have received more than $2.8 million in awards.
Applications may be submitted at any time for the following scholarship programs:
- SJICF Scholarship – For educational opportunities at any accredited community college, two-year college, graduate school program, or vocational/career program.
- Volk – Geyman Scholarship – For health- or aviation-related training
*If you are going to apply for scholarship funding for Fall 2026, please plan to submit your application by April 22, 2026.
Applications will be available on March 13, 2026, and due on April 22, 2026, for the following scholarship programs:
- Inskeep Legacy Scholarship – For four-year college and university educational opportunities (Note: The 2026 deadline for reapplications for previous year award recipients is June 1, 2026.)
- Michael Scott Kramer Memorial Scholarship – For advanced education and training in recreation, adventure tourism, forestry, marine trades, or other related earth sciences
