Impact Stories: Vital Services at Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood

In 2023, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood received a crucial $4,982 grant from the San Juan Island Community Foundation, aimed at sustaining and expanding essential sexual and reproductive health services at their Friday Harbor clinic.

Grant Objectives and Results

The grant enabled the clinic to continue offering comprehensive health care services amid rising demands and operational challenges. Director Jennie Noskoff reflects, “In 2023, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood’s Friday Harbor health center had 280 total visits over 211 total patients for various clinical services including STI testing and treatment, family planning, counseling, and contraception, pregnancy testing, and cancer screening and prevention.”

Looking Ahead

The continuation of these services is funded through a combination of individual donations, grants, and local government support.. In addition, this year also marked an important transition, as the clinic relocated to the San Juan County Health Department.
