The Endowment

The SJICF General Endowment Fund has been created to assure a sustainable source of revenue to carry out the Foundation’s mission on behalf of the community without solely relying on the uncertainties of our annual giving campaign. This fund is endowed, meaning that the principal is invested and maintained in perpetuity with only the earnings being distributed as determined annually by the board of directors.

The Endowment is divided into two sections, one for granting and one for operations. Donors can specify one or both sections for their gifts. The Endowment Fund is invested and managed as a composite unit and all distributions are made according to the board-approved spending policy.

Legacy Gifts and the Endowment

Experience has shown that many donors choose to make a donation to the Foundation’s Endowment Fund for their legacy gifts as executed in their Wills. Your testamentary distribution requests will be tracked and honored by the Board of Trustees.
