Student Overview
Thanks to the generosity and vision of our donors, the Community Foundation is able to offer scholarships to eligible high school graduates for higher education and career training opportunities for all ages. Scholarships can open doors to advanced education and provide an incentive to realize one’s dreams.
In 2023, the Foundation was pleased to award $167,000 in scholarships for higher education and career training programs. Since the first awards in 2008, 196 students have received a total of $2.3 million in awards.
Applications may be submitted at any time for the following scholarship program:
- SJICF Scholarship – For educational opportunities at any accredited community college, two-year college, four-year college or university, graduate school program, or vocational/career program.
*If you are going to apply for scholarship funding for Fall 2024, please plan to submit your application by April 23, 2024.
Applications will be available on March 1, 2024, and due on April 23, 2024, for the following scholarship programs:
- Inskeep Legacy Scholarship – For college and university educational opportunities.
- John Volk Memorial Scholarship – For aviation related training.
- Marcia L. Zakarison M.D. Scholarship – For educational opportunities at an accredited college, university or vocational institution, specifically for pursuing a career in the human medical field.
